ABOUT ME

I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2009 with a history degree and went on to get my teaching credentials in history and special education at Dominican University in 2012. I began teaching at Aptos Middle School in San Francisco while commuting from Sonoma County from 2010-2013. My fifteen hour commute, on top of my full time teaching job didn’t turn out to be great, so I transitioned to Santa Rosa Middle School and simultaneously worked at Elsie Allen High School for a year. The following year, in 2014, I taught English and history full time at Santa Rosa Middle School. All that changed with the Tubbs Fire in 2017. With low enrollment at Santa Rosa Middle School, I transferred to Santa Rosa High in 2018 and taught history, RSP English and Directed Studies. In the summer of 2018, I had the privilege of teaching a literature class at San Francisco City College, and during the summer of 2020, I was blessed to have worked with a brilliant group of teachers to write ethnic studies curriculum for Santa Rosa City Schools. My son and I are both SRHS alumni.

In June, I took students to DC and NY. Afterwards, my husband and I drove to Yellowstone National Park and visited our boys in Los Angeles. We enjoyed lots of kayaking and visiting family & friends!
